The short answer
A Mitsubishi takes a JIS-size maintenance-free battery: a small NS40 class in an Attrage or Mirage, a mid-size D23 class in most Lancer, ASX and Outlander models, and an 80D26 class in a Pajero or Montero Sport. Arjan Battery tests the battery and alternator at your car in Arjan or across Dubai, then fits the correct size on the spot.
Plenty of the Mitsubishi cars on Dubai roads have years behind them. The Lancer and the Pajero are no longer built, and the ones still running do daily work. On a car that age the battery is rarely the only tired part of the starting circuit, which is why a Mitsubishi callout starts with a test and not with a sale.

A battery's life in a Dubai Mitsubishi
An older Pajero or Lancer needs more than a new battery
On a car with years of Dubai summers behind it, the battery is one part of a longer chain. Corroded terminal clamps, a tired earth strap or a worn alternator can make a good battery look dead, and can finish a new one within months. Replacing the battery without looking at the rest only moves the breakdown to a later date.
So the test comes first. The technician reads resting voltage, cranking strength and the alternator's charging output, and looks at the cable ends while he is there. A working alternator charges at roughly 13.8 to 14.7V. If yours does not, he tells you before you buy a battery, because the new one would only go flat again.

Words on a Mitsubishi battery label
- NS40 and NS60
- Older JIS names for the small case sizes used in Attrage, Mirage and many Lancer models.
- 75D23L
- Performance rank 75, case size D23 (about 23cm long). The final letter gives the terminal side.
- CCA
- Cold cranking amps: the burst of current the battery can give the starter. Our tester compares it with the rating on the label.
- SMF or MF
- Sealed maintenance-free. No topping up with water; a calcium alloy keeps water loss low.
- EFB
- Enhanced flooded battery, made for the repeated restarts of Auto Stop and Go. Fitted to some newer Eclipse Cross, ASX and Outlander versions.
Mitsubishi: Model by model
- Mitsubishi Pajero
- The V6 petrol models usually take an 80D26L-class battery under the bonnet. On older cars we also look at the terminal clamps and earth strap, which corrode with age.
- Mitsubishi Lancer
- A small to mid-size JIS battery, usually NS60 to 55D23 class depending on engine. The fitted battery is often not the original size, so a label photo helps.
- Mitsubishi Attrage
- One of the smallest batteries we fit, usually NS40 class. The three-cylinder engine needs little cranking power, but the small battery has little reserve for a week parked.
- Mitsubishi ASX
- Most take a mid-size D23-class battery under the bonnet. Versions with Auto Stop and Go need an EFB type, which the label on the fitted battery will show.
- Mitsubishi Outlander
- Petrol versions usually use a D23-class battery, EFB where Auto Stop and Go is fitted. The plug-in hybrid has a small 12V auxiliary battery in the boot area.
- Mitsubishi L200
- Petrol pickups usually take an 80D26-class battery. Diesel versions need more capacity and cranking power, so we confirm the engine before loading the van.
- Mitsubishi Montero Sport
- Usually an 80D26L-class battery under the bonnet for the V6. Seven seats and rear AC keep the electrical load high in summer traffic.
- Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
- A mid-size D23-class battery. Many versions have Auto Stop and Go and came with an EFB battery, which must be replaced with EFB or better.

Mitsubishi: common questions
Not answered here? Ask on WhatsApp. A person replies, at any hour.
What battery fits a Mitsubishi Pajero?
Most V6 petrol Pajero models in the UAE take an 80D26L-class JIS battery under the bonnet. Shorter three-door and older versions can differ, and many cars are no longer on their original size. Send a photo of the battery label or your registration card and we confirm before coming to you in Arjan or Dubai.
Why does my Mitsubishi battery keep dying?
The usual causes are a battery past 2 to 3 years old, an alternator that no longer charges fully, corroded terminals, or a car that only does short trips. A test of resting voltage, cranking strength and charging output separates these in a few minutes, so you replace the part that is actually at fault.
How do I know if it is the battery or the alternator on my Lancer?
If the car starts after a jump and keeps running but will not restart later, the battery is the likely cause. If it dies while driving or the battery light stays on, suspect the alternator. We measure charging voltage with the engine running, which should be roughly 13.8 to 14.7V.
Does an Outlander or Eclipse Cross with Auto Stop and Go need a special battery?
Yes. Cars that switch the engine off at traffic lights restart many more times a day and need an EFB battery built for that. A standard battery fits the tray but wears out quickly and the stop-start function stops working. We check the label on your fitted battery to confirm the type.
Do you come to Motor City or Dubai Sports City for a Mitsubishi battery?
Yes. Both are neighbours of Arjan, and the technician usually arrives in 20 to 35 minutes. We also cover the rest of Dubai, with the arrival time confirmed on WhatsApp or on the call. Delivery and fitting are free, and there is no call-out charge when you buy the battery.
