How often do brake pads need replacing in Dubai?
There is no fixed interval. It depends on the weight of the car, how you drive and how much city traffic you see. Have the pads measured at each service. Most pads should be changed at around 3 mm of friction material, before the wear indicator starts to squeal.
Do I need new discs every time I change pads?
No. Discs stay if they are above the minimum thickness, run true and have no deep grooves. They are replaced when they are too thin, cracked, heavily lipped or causing a shake through the steering wheel. We measure them and give you the reading.
Why do my brakes squeak in the morning or after a car wash?
A thin film of rust forms on the discs when they sit wet, and it scrapes off in the first few stops. Fine sand between pad and disc does the same. If the noise carries on once the brakes are warm, have the pads checked.
Can you change brake pads at my building in Arjan?
