The short answer
Arjan Battery sends a technician for a flat tyre fix in Arjan, Dubai, at any hour. The spare wheel is fitted, or the tyre is inflated, or a nail hole in the tread is plugged on the spot so you can drive on. If the tyre is cut or the sidewall is damaged, we tell you it needs replacing and help you reach a tyre shop.
A flat in a basement bay is awkward: a low ceiling, a pillar beside the wheel and no room to swing a wrench. A flat on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road is dangerous. The job is the same in both places: get the car rolling on four inflated tyres today. The permanent repair, if the tyre can be saved, is a separate job done with the tyre off the rim.
Signs you need it
- The tyre is visibly flat or sitting on the rim
- The tyre pressure warning is on and one reading keeps falling
- The car pulls to one side and the steering feels heavy
- A flapping or thumping noise that rises with speed
- A nail or screw head showing in the tread
- One tyre is soft again every morning
What the job covers
- Spare wheel fitted and the flat stowed in the boot
- Spare checked and inflated to its own pressure
- Tread puncture plugged on the spot where that is safe
- All tyres set to the pressures on the door placard
- Wheel nuts tightened crosswise
- A clear answer on repair or replacement for the damaged tyre
While you wait for the technician
- Do not drive on a fully flat tyre, even slowly. A few hundred metres ruins the sidewall and can damage the rim.
- Park on level, firm ground with the handbrake on and the gearbox in Park or first gear.
- Find the locking wheel nut key. It is usually in the glovebox or with the jack in the boot.
- Check what the car carries: a full-size spare, a narrow space-saver, or only a sealant kit.
- On a road, switch on the hazard lights and wait behind the barrier, away from the traffic side.
- Send which wheel it is and a photo of the size on the sidewall, such as 225/55 R18.
What the technician does
- 1
Look before lifting
The tyre is checked for a nail, a cut, sidewall damage or a leaking valve. That decides between a plug, air or the spare.
- 2
Secure the car
Wheels chocked, handbrake on, jack placed on the maker's jacking point and not on the sill or floor pan.
- 3
Loosen, lift, swap
The nuts are cracked loose while the tyre is still on the ground. Then the car is lifted, the wheel comes off and the spare goes on.
- 4
Tighten crosswise
Nuts are snugged in a star pattern, the car is lowered, and they are tightened fully in the same pattern.
- 5
Set pressures
The spare and the other three tyres are set to the figures on the placard.
- 6
What comes next
You are told if the flat tyre can be repaired, and how far and how fast the spare is rated to go.
What can be done at the car, and what cannot
Done on the spot
- Spare wheel fitted in a basement, on a driveway or in a lay-by
- A nail or screw hole in the tread plugged to get you home
- A leaking valve core changed and the tyre re-inflated
- A soft tyre topped up after a pressure warning
Needs a tyre shop
- A cut, bulge or bubble in the sidewall: the tyre is replaced
- A tyre driven flat until the sidewall creased
- A bent or cracked alloy rim that will not hold air
- The permanent plug-patch repair, done from inside the tyre
- No spare and damage beyond a plug: the car goes on a flatbed
A space-saver spare is not a normal wheel
The narrow spare in many boots is limited to 80 km/h and runs at a much higher pressure than the normal tyres. Both figures are printed on it. It often lies forgotten for years and goes soft. With it fitted the car brakes and corners differently, so drive gently and sort the main tyre within days.
Numbers worth knowing
- Tyre pressures
- On the placard in the driver's door frame or fuel flap, set with the tyres cold
- Space-saver speed
- Usually 80 km/h, printed on the wheel
- Space-saver pressure
- Often about 60 psi; check its sidewall
- Wheel nuts
- Have the tightness re-checked after about 50 km
- Legal tread minimum
- 1.6 mm; grip falls off well before that
- Outside plug
- A temporary fix until the inside is inspected

No app, no account. One message is enough.
- 1
Send your pin and your car
WhatsApp your live location with the make, model and year, or call. In a basement, add the tower name and bay number.

Get the price and arrival time
We reply with the battery options that fit, the full price and how long the van will take. Nothing moves until you say yes.

Flat tyre fix: common questions
Not answered here? Ask on WhatsApp. A person replies, at any hour.
Can you fix a flat tyre in a basement car park?
Yes. The jack and tools are carried to the bay by hand, and a low ceiling is not a problem for a wheel change. The floor has to be level and firm. Send the building name, the level and the bay number before you go down, since signal is weak in most Arjan basements.
I have no spare wheel. What can you do?
Many newer cars carry only a sealant bottle and a compressor. If the hole is a nail or screw in the tread, it can be plugged and inflated at the car. If the tyre is cut or the sidewall is damaged, the car goes to a tyre shop on a flatbed, which we arrange.
Can I keep driving on a plugged tyre?
For a short while, at moderate speed. A plug pushed in from outside seals the hole but nobody has seen the inside of the tyre. Book a proper tyre puncture repair soon, where the tyre comes off the rim, the inside is inspected and a plug-patch is fitted.
How far can I drive on a space-saver spare?
Follow what is printed on it, which is usually a limit of 80 km/h and a short distance. Treat it as a trip home and then to the tyre shop, not a week of commuting on Al Khail Road. Check its pressure first, because a spare that has sat for years is rarely full.
Why does my tyre keep losing air when there is no nail in it?
The usual causes are a worn valve core, a seal around the pressure sensor valve, corrosion where the tyre bead sits on an alloy rim, or a hairline crack in the rim. Soapy water on the valve and bead shows the bubbles. A valve is fixed at the car; rim leaks go to a tyre shop.
