How do I know my clutch is slipping?
Drive at moderate speed in a high gear and press the accelerator firmly. If the revs jump but the car does not pull, the clutch is slipping. A high bite point and a hot, sharp smell after ramps are the other common signs. Message us with the car details and we will confirm it.
Should the flywheel be replaced with the clutch?
Not always. A solid flywheel in good condition can stay, sometimes after resurfacing. A dual-mass flywheel is checked for free play and rock, and if it is out of limits it should be replaced with the clutch, since the gearbox is already out. We tell you what we find.
My clutch pedal went to the floor and stays there. Is the clutch finished?
