The short answer
Infiniti shares its battery sizes with Nissan: JIS batteries of roughly 60 to 95Ah, from a 55D23L class unit in older sedans to an 80D26L or 105D31L class in the QX80. Newer turbo models with idle stop-start need AGM or EFB. Arjan Battery tests and replaces an Infiniti battery at your door in Arjan and across Dubai, 24 hours a day.
Under the badge, an Infiniti is electrically a Nissan with more equipment. That is good news for the owner: the battery sizes are common and usually on the van. The harder part is finding the battery on the sedans and coupes, and picking the right technology for the newer turbo cars.

A Nissan battery under an Infiniti badge
The QX80 is built on the Nissan Patrol and the QX60 on the Pathfinder. The battery tray, the clamp and the terminal layout are the same, so the correct battery for an Infiniti is a stock item, not a special order. A battery sold as a Patrol fitment is the right part for a QX80 of the same generation.
What differs is the load. An Infiniti adds a powered tailgate, a large audio amplifier, cooled seats and surround cameras, and several of these keep drawing current after the car is locked. A QX80 that only does short runs along Umm Suqeim Street with the rear AC on rarely gets its battery back to full charge.
On the G, Q50, Q70, FX and QX70 you will not see a battery when you lift the bonnet. It sits at the back of the engine bay under a plastic cover held by clips that turn brittle after years of heat. Our technician releases them carefully and refits the cover so rain water still drains where it should.
Two kinds of Infiniti, two kinds of battery
V6 and V8 without stop-start
- QX80, QX56, QX70, FX and most Q50 and Q70 cars fall in this group.
- A sealed calcium JIS battery is the correct part. AGM is optional, not required.
- No registration. A memory saver keeps the radio presets, clock and seat memory where the car allows it.
Turbo models with idle stop-start
- QX50, QX55, the Q50 2.0 turbo and later QX60 cars fall in this group.
- AGM or EFB only. An ordinary battery wears out quickly under repeated restarts.
- A current sensor sits on the negative terminal. Where the car supports it, we reset the stop-start battery data with a scan tool.
How an Infiniti battery ages in Dubai
Infiniti: Model by model
- Infiniti QX80
- Shares its platform and 5.6 V8 with the Nissan Patrol and takes the same large JIS battery, usually in the 80D26L to 105D31L class. It sits at the front of the engine bay and needs no registration.
- Infiniti QX60
- Uses the same JIS battery as the Nissan Pathfinder it is based on, usually an 80D26L class unit. Later cars with idle stop-start need AGM or EFB, so we check the fitted battery.
- Infiniti QX50
- The current QX50 with the 2.0 VC-Turbo runs idle stop-start and usually carries an AGM or EFB. The older V6 QX50 takes a conventional JIS battery under the cover near the windscreen.
- Infiniti QX70
- The battery hides under a plastic cover at the rear of the engine bay, close to the windscreen. It is a conventional JIS unit, usually in the D23 to D26 case class.
- Infiniti QX56
- The 2011 to 2013 QX56 is the same vehicle as the later QX80 and takes the same large JIS battery. Earlier American-built cars may carry a BCI-size battery, so we check which one you have.
- Infiniti Q50
- V6 cars take a conventional JIS battery under the rear cover in the engine bay. The 2.0 turbo with idle stop-start usually has an AGM, and the hybrid keeps its 12V battery in the boot.
- Infiniti Q70
- Same layout as the older M sedan: a JIS battery under the cover at the back of the engine bay. The V8 takes the larger case, so tell us the engine when you message.

Infiniti: common questions
Not answered here? Ask on WhatsApp. A person replies, at any hour.
Is an Infiniti QX80 battery the same as a Nissan Patrol battery?
For the same generation, yes. The QX80 and the Patrol share the platform, the 5.6 V8 and the battery tray, so they take the same large JIS battery. We still check the label on the fitted battery, because a previous owner may have fitted a different size.
Where is the battery on an Infiniti Q50 or QX70?
In the engine bay, but hidden. It sits at the rear of the bay, close to the windscreen, under a black plastic cover that unclips. The Q50 hybrid is the exception, with its 12V battery in the boot. Jump-start connections are made after the cover is lifted.
Does an Infiniti need the new battery registered?
Most do not. V6 and V8 cars simply need a battery of the right size and a memory saver during the swap. Turbo models with idle stop-start keep battery data in the engine computer, and on those we carry out a scan-tool reset so stop-start comes back properly.
My Infiniti clicks but will not start, and the lights work. Is it the battery?
Usually, yes. Lights and screens need only a few amps, while the starter needs several hundred. A battery can light the cabin and still fail to crank. We test cranking health and the alternator on the spot, and if the battery is fine we tell you and look at the starter circuit.
Can you change an Infiniti battery at home in Dubai at night?
Yes, we work 24 hours, 7 days. In Arjan and neighbouring communities the technician usually arrives in 20 to 35 minutes. For the rest of Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi we confirm the arrival time on WhatsApp or the call before he sets off.
