i-stop

Mazda's start-stop system. It shuts the engine down at a standstill and restarts it when you lift off the brake, which means many more starts per trip than a normal car.

i-ELOOP

Brake energy recovery that stores electricity in a capacitor, then feeds it to the car's electrical loads. The 12V battery is still there and still has to be the idling-stop type.

Q-85

A Japanese idling-stop battery code. Q is the case size, the same footprint as a D23, and 85 is a performance rank. It is an EFB, not an AGM.

S-95

The next size up, in a D26 case, used on some larger and diesel Mazdas. It will not fit a tray made for a Q-85.

Current sensor

A small module on the negative terminal that measures charge flowing in and out. The car uses its running total to decide when i-stop is allowed.
