A start-stop car restarts its engine dozens of times on a single trip. An ordinary flooded battery is not built for that and wears out quickly. Entry start-stop systems use EFB. Cars with brake energy recovery or heavy electrical loads use AGM, and those must get AGM again.
Most recent European cars, and many newer Ford and GM models, also monitor the battery through a sensor. After a swap the car should be told that a new battery is fitted, which is done with a scan tool on your driveway. We check the fitted battery or the registration card before leaving so the correct one is on the van.
